The Balkan Academy of Forensic Sciences proudly recognizes exceptional contributions to the advancement of forensic sciences through its official awards. These honors celebrate individuals whose scientific achievements, leadership, and dedication have significantly enriched the field and strengthened the mission of the Academy.

The Michalodimitrakis Award​
Named in honor of Professor Michalodimitrakis, a distinguished forensic pathologist and one of the founding figures of the Balkan Academy of Forensic Sciences, the Michalodimitrakis Award is dedicated to recognizing excellence in medical and positive sciences.
It honors scientists whose work demonstrates outstanding innovation, rigor, and impact in areas such as forensic medicine, genetics, toxicology, and related disciplines.
The İşcan Award​
Named in memory of Professor Ä°ÅŸcan, an internationally renowned forensic anthropologist and visionary academic, the Ä°ÅŸcan Award celebrates excellence in the social sciences and recognizes exceptional achievements in fields such as forensic anthropology, criminology, psychology, sociology, and legal studies.
The award honors those who have advanced the understanding of the human dimension of forensic sciences.

Starting in 2026, the Michalodimitrakis Award and the Ä°ÅŸcan Award will be presented annually as two distinct honors to outstanding scientists in their respective fields.
